Why Some Families are Choosing Homeschooling

Many people have seen the benefits of teaching and learning at home long before Covid changed education for many others. Some people, maybe even you or your family, might have unexpectedly had to homeschool and might have unexpectedly enjoyed it. For some, homeschooling has been more of a challenge- especially when it became the only option of learning during the pandemic. The change from school to home was such a change for many. Some families have fallen in love with schooling from home.

Here are some reasons families are choosing to homeschool even after many schools are reopening:

Homeschooling is Flexible

One of the most attractive advantages to homeschooling is you get to pick your schedule. Homeschooling in the morning, noon or evening is an option. Homeschooling during the week or on weekends are options as well. Take a few days off when needed. It is completely up to you. You can even shift your learning time to a different part of the day or to outdoor learning. Homeschooling during Covid has shown us how precious our time is and the importance of making the most of it.

Homeschooling Supports Engaging Learning

Homeschooling may seem like a big undertaking and it is a big change. But there are many ways to get support when finding resources and curriculum that will be engaging to your child. The lessons being engaging will increase your students’ interest in learning. This gives you the ability to teach in ways and subjects that your child will be drawn to. Some of our best teaching moments are from our kids. They let us know what is working and what is not and what they are interested in.

Homeschooling Allows Personalized Levels

Homeschooling gives you the opportunity to teach at your child’s level. Not all kids learn at the same pace, which is normal and expected. Homeschooling allows you to meet the needs of your individual child. You can spend more time on subjects your child may struggle with.
